Very Asian Youth Concert 2026

This concert acts as both a fundraiser for the May Book Project and public display of youth talent. We hope to raise money to donate May Book Project books to at-need schools in Missouri, through a collaboration with the Very Asian Foundation. The Team:

Eric Chang

Eric Chang is a freshman at John Burroughs School. He enjoys playing the violin and competing in various sports such as soccer and tennis. Eric has frequently performed for Asian holiday celebrations at his high school, and is hoping to share his love for Asian culture with others through the Very Asian Foundation. His favorite book by an Asian author is The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories by Ken Liu.

Genevieve Nguyen

Genevieve Nguyen is a freshman at Clayton High School. She has been involved with the Asian American community at CHS, and continues to play an active role with different opportunities. Outside of AACS, she enjoys aerial silks, reading, playing instruments and crocheting. She is so excited that you are here, and thanks you for coming to this event!

Katherine Nguyen

Katherine Nguyen, a proud 2nd gen Vietnamese, is currently a Senior at Clayton High School. She has been on the concert planning team since 10th grade and has worked closely with the Very Asian Foundation to aid with graphic design. She also leads Clayton’s Asian Student Association. Besides from AANHPI advocacy, she enjoys playing viola and photography.

Sameul Noh

Samuel Noh is a junior at Ritenour High School who enjoys playing the cello and is a fan of football. He joined the Very Asian Concert because he loves sharing Asian culture through music and wanted to be part of a performance that celebrates these traditions. In addition to music, Samuel enjoys working out, volunteering in his community, and spending time with family and friends. He hopes the concert will provide a meaningful and enjoyable experience for the audience while inspiring others to explore and appreciate different cultures through music. His favorite Asian Book is called When My Name Was Keoko.

Kaavya Panchal

Kaavya Panchal is a sophomore at Lafayette High School. She enjoys dancing, reading, writing poetry, and playing video games. She is a big advocate for cultural diversity and representation, and she has done years of both Asian and Western dance, also listening to music from all over the world. She joined AACS in hope to bring more awareness about different traditions and arts from all over Asia to St. Louis. Her favorite books by Asian authors include The God and the Gumiho by Sophie Kim and If You Could See the Sun by Ann Liang.

Lily Wang

Lily Wang is a sophomore at Marquette High School who enjoys dancing, listening to music, and making crafts. She likes to travel with her family and try new things (especially edibles). Aside from that, she is happy to help her community and showcase Asian culture! The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan is her favorite book by an Asian author.

Maggie Zeng

Maggie Zeng is a freshman at Clayton High School. She has multiple years of experience in Western and Asian dance and music, and is excited to bring that knowledge to the Very Asian Concert. Outside of AACS, Maggie enjoys dancing, music, art, and eating Asian foods. Her favorite Asian book is Maggie; or, A Man and a Woman Walk into a Bar
