AFFINITY + SOCIALS
The AACS executive team consistently organizes memorable events through the school year, focusing on celebration, bonding, and cultural enrichment.
At the end of every school year, the AACS executive team plans a send-off for graduating seniors on our team. This gathering serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate their accomplishments, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie while indulging in good food.
Conversely, the fall social marks the beginning of the year with lively festivities. In 2023, our fall social attendees learned how to make Gimbap, savored sips of Boba, and danced to the beats of Kpop and Bollywood. The social exemplifies team bonding and celebrates cultural diversity, setting an enthusiastic tone for the upcoming year.
Our Dumpling Social was a testament to both educational and inspirational experiences. Accompanied by skilled chefs, participants embarked on a journey from dough to dumpling, while esteemed guests Ms. May Yeh and Mr. Kevin Peek from the Missouri Asian American Bar Association (MAABA) shared invaluable insights on legal careers, law school, and their personal narratives as AAPI individuals in the Midwest.
AACS has held viewing parties in the past showcasing AAPI films, including the Corky Lee Documentary, Debbie Lum's "Try Harder," and Marvel's "Shangchi." These create an environment of both learning and bonding!
